Ron Jones Jp, AFIML has over twenty years’ experience in General Management in both the Government and private sectors. During that time, he filled many varied senior roles in the areas of Operations, HR, Employment Relations, Occupational Health and Safety. He has a great deal of experience in the conduct of employment investigations, designing and developing discipline and dismissal processes for organisations. Mentoring other managers and assisting them with difficult issues around employment relations.
Ron holds tertiary qualifications in Personnel Management and Employee Relations, financial accounting, and Strategic HR. He is also an Associate Fellow of the Institute of Managers and Leaders, Associate of the Arbitrators and Mediator Institute NZ and a Mentor with Business Mentors NZ.
As both a senior manager and ex-trade union representative he has worked on many wage round negotiations, contract negotiations and is comfortable working in multi-site and multi-union environments.
For the last seven years, Ron has been self-employed as a consultant, offering services and assistance to employers to ensure they remain compliant with employment legislation. Assisting individuals and companies in formal mediation and the ERA, and the Human Rights Commission.
He also holds two Government Ministerial appointments to the Benefit Review Committee. Chairing reviews of decision made in relation to Social Welfare Benefits, Social Housing, and Superannuation. Also, Youth Justice, reviewing processes, grievances, management and performance of Youth Justice Facilities.
Outside of work, he is an active rugby referee and referee coach, a Justice of the Peace and an Independent Marriage and Civil Union Celebrant.
